The Bear is back in the kitchen — and this time, it’s preparing a five-star feast. Hulu’s critically acclaimed culinary dramedy has officially been renewed for a fifth season, set to premiere in 2026, as exclusively revealed by TVLine.
“The Bear continues to be a global sensation,” said FX chairman John Landgraf in a statement. “Its latest season has drawn extraordinary viewership — every bit as powerful and compelling as its earlier chapters.” He continued, “Year after year, Chris Storer, along with our brilliant team of producers, cast, and crew, have crafted one of television’s most unforgettable stories. We are thrilled they’ll keep cooking.”
At the heart of The Bear lies a deeply human journey — a story of grief, passion, and rebirth.
The series stars Jeremy Allen White as Carmy Berzatto, a once-promising chef who returns to his roots in Chicago after the tragic loss of his brother, Mikey. Faced with the weight of family legacy and personal demons, Carmy transforms his late brother’s humble sandwich shop into a daring fine-dining destination. Alongside him stands Sydney (Ayo Edebiri), a fiercely ambitious sous-chef whose vision challenges and inspires him; Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), the loyal yet volatile front-of-house manager; Tina (Liza Colón-Zayas), the sharp-tongued but dependable line cook; and Marcus (Lionel Bryce), the quiet genius behind the restaurant’s dessert menu. Supporting roles are brought to life by Abby Elliott and Matty Matheson, while guest stars including Jon Bernthal, Oliver Platt, Molly Gordon, and Jamie Lee Curtis add depth and drama to the ensemble.
When The Bear first premiered in 2022 with a modest rollout of eight episodes, few could predict the emotional intensity and artistic brilliance that would follow. Season 1 was met with universal acclaim and swept the Emmys, taking home 10 awards, including Outstanding Comedy Series and acting honors for White, Edebiri, and Moss-Bachrach. Season 2 raised the stakes even higher, breaking records with 11 Emmy wins — a new high-water mark for comedy in a single year — with additional trophies for White, Moss-Bachrach, and Colón-Zayas.
Season 4 debuted in June 2024, with all ten episodes released at once — offering fans a full-course meal of tension, growth, and heartbreak. (Read our recap of the emotionally charged finale here.)
